Originally from Sharqeya, Egypt, Mohamed Zakaria first encountered SEKEM by chance—but quickly found a deep connection to its vision of agriculture, culture, and community. With a background in education, he once supported both schoolchildren and professionals in navigating the pressures of modern life.
His journey took a new direction when he joined the Egyptian Biodynamic Association (EBDA) and the Economy of Love initiative. Now based in Wahat, Mohamed works as an agricultural engineer, helping establish a regenerative desert community.
“Through biodynamic farming, we’re not only restoring land—we’re rebuilding lives and creating meaningful connections.”
With the support of SEKEM, Mohamed envisions a thriving future in Wahat, where people live and work in balance with nature and one another.
