CBs and VVBs

The EoL Standard is certified by Certification Bodies accredited according to ISO 17065, such as the Center for Organic Agriculture in Egypt (COAE). Additionally, EoL collaborates with Validation and Verification Bodies (VVBs) to validate and verify the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) statements of the EoL licensees in accordance with ISO 14065:2020 and ISO 14064-3:2019. These bodies ensure the utmost accuracy and transparency in assessing the environmental impact of EoL practices.

The EoL-accredited VVBs include ICPM Group, EPIC Sustainability, and Enviance Limited Private. This comprehensive framework underscores EoL’s commitment to accountability, sustainability, and global standards, fostering stakeholder confidence and driving positive change in the agricultural landscape.

Service Provider

Validation is conducted based on the EoL project design document provided by the Carbon Footprint Center (CFC), affiliated with Heliopolis University, the largest sustainability university program in MENA.

To prevent double counting, each EoL project certificate is assigned a unique serial number, which is linked to invoices, issue dates, and the amount of CO2. The CFC is certified according to ISO 14064-1:2018 at the organizational level and ISO 14064-2:2019 at the project level for quantification, monitoring, and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reduction or removal enhancement standards.

Standard Owner & Developer

The EoL standard was developed and is legally owned by the non-profit organization, the Egyptian Biodynamic Association (Demeter Egypt).

Standard & Registry Management

The EoL standard provides governance and certification criteria. In addition, the EoL manages the EoL carbon registry. The EoL governance is structured according to ISO 17067.

Established Agro-Economic Group

The inspiration for the EoL certification and carbon credit system is Sekem, an organization that began revitalizing Egyptian desert land using biodynamic farming in 1977, creating a successful agricultural initiative and evolving into an agro-economic group with companies, NGOs, education, and healthcare components.
